A week of the StaffOPs roster: departments grouped down the left with their staff under them, days across the top, and each shift shown as a block in its department’s colour. Shifts nobody has answered yet are outlined rather than filled.
The roster: departments down the side, days across the top, each one in its own colour.

Thirty seconds

See it work, before you talk to anybody.

A run through the whole thing — the dashboard, building a roster, clocking in, approving the hours and sending them to payroll. No sound, nothing to sign up for.

The dashboard

Sign in and check out the state of play.

Each dashboard gives a customised command centre for you to act on. Managers see a business view of who still needs to clock off, shifts that need filled and what's on today. Crew members see shift details and future roster requests.

The StaffOPs dashboard as a manager sees it. A People column listing three people who have not clocked off, someone who has not clocked in, someone who left before the end of their shift, two shifts needing cover and ten timesheets waiting for approval; a Rosters column showing sixteen shifts still needing people and the two events running today.
Signed in as a manager: the state of play, and every line links to where you act on it.
The same StaffOPs dashboard as somebody on the crew sees it: the shift they are on now, and one shift they have been asked to work and still need to answer.
The same screen for somebody on the crew: the shift they are on, and what needs an answer.

Three jobs

End-to-end shift management rolling three jobs into one place.

01

Build the roster

Teams, shifts and named people. Ask more of the pool than you need, see who comes back available, then confirm the ones you want. Nobody is left reading a group chat trying to figure out if they're on.

02

Time clocking using your device

People clock in and out where the work is, with an optional distance check so it happens on site rather than in the car park at home. Breaks come off the worked time. The Today board shows who is on, who is on a break and who is late.

03

Send payroll a real file

Sign off your department's pay period and send it straight to finance for processing in an Excel file and PDF. No retyping, duplicating spreadsheets or late-night copy-paste jobs.

Events, and everything else

Work that spans days is one thing, not nine.

We know most people only see the ‘main event’. In reality, we know there's far more work taking place behind the scenes – the build, the experience and the pack-down, with shifts hanging off each of them. StaffOPs integrates these into one thing on the calendar making it easier to see the big picture.

And when you need a simple solution, StaffOPs is flexible to offer straight-forward rostering for regular staffing and shift needs.

The StaffOPs Today board: a list of staff for the current day, each row showing whether they are on the clock, on a break, or not yet arrived.
The Today board: on the clock, on a break, and not here yet.

Pay your way

Tell us how you do things. Then we do it.

Not all shifts are created equal, and neither are your timesheets. StaffOPs can apply different pay rules depending on what you've got going on – minimum engagements, unsociable-hour multipliers or rules for specific departments. It applies them with ease and shows all working on the export.

What it will never do is decide what an award or an employment agreement entitles someone to. That is your call and your legal advice — and a tool that guessed it would be wrong for somebody, quietly, in a wage record. So we don't guess.

A signed-off StaffOPs pay period for one department: each person’s days, the hours worked, unsociable-hours work shown at 1.5× and converted into payable hours, a department total, and buttons to take it out as Excel or PDF.
Once you sign it off, it’s away to payroll as Excel and PDF files.

The assistant

Talk us through your week. And we'll build it.

Our StaffOPs assistant helps set up the events and roster requirements you need. Say the job runs Thursday to Saturday with a build on the Wednesday, and the event is created with each day and the shifts hung off them. Ask who is on next Friday and it tells you. Ask it to put four people on the Saturday pack-down and it does that too.

It makes light work of regular shift patterns and can build next week's roster while you're doing something else. The dictate function also means you can work on the go, and as thoughts come to mind, instead of waiting until you're back at your desk.

It works with your own permissions, not around them — it can only see and do what you could have done yourself, and it has no access to pay rates at all. Everything it makes lands on the roster like anything else, where you can see it and change it.

The StaffOPs assistant: a typed request to add a three-day show run, and the event and shifts it created in reply.
Ask for a run of shows in a sentence; check what it made on the roster.

Things people actually type

  • “Add next week’s run — pack-in Tuesday, shows Wednesday and Thursday, pack-out Friday.”
  • “Who is on Saturday night?”
  • “I need six on the bar from 5pm Friday.”
  • “Put Ari and Jess on the Thursday build.”
